The FunctionEight iBase is the central component in the iSuite application series. It is the minimum requirement for any FunctionEight intranet deployment. Other modules are added as required but the iBase in itself encompasses a comprehensive amount of functionality that can facilitate knowledge transfer and retention within an organisation regardless of size. It allows for real time update and transfer of company information and provides an introduction into network-based collaboration. There are no special or expensive software requirements and it can be operated within a standard internet browser with a simple and easy to use intuitive interface. There are no time-consuming or costly training sessions required.
iBase comprises various built in functionality as described herein.

Corporate News
shows a list of documents issued by the head office which are designed for corporate access. Clicking the hyperlink opens the relevant file.
Chairman's Corner
are similar in function to Post-it’s where someone can post important pieces of information. Each Post-it can be customised with different colours. Clicking on the title of the notice brings up another screen with all the details of the notice.
World Links is an optional extra which allows the client to display basic information about their entire operations world wide. Information includes, name, address and contact details.

Cascading Menus provide for simplified access to standard documentation such as templates or forms and can be fully customised and populated by the client without the need for any vendor coding or complicated process.
Bulletin Boards are where users of iBase can post newsgroup information and hold informal conversations. The number of bulletin boards is not limited. Depending on access levels users can create, delete and add to bulletin boards. There is a function to add files to bulletin board messages.
Milestone Calendar is a project calendar which has three different views; monthly, weekly and daily. It is possible for users to post important events to the calendar for collaborative scheduling. It is possible to create recurring events.
Photo Library is where users can post memorable pictures or project related pictures. The size and number of pictures allowed is limited. Depending on the access level users can add, view and delete.
Security Manager is where each user rights are created for iBase. There are three levels of access; “Administrator”, “Director” and “User”. Users are linked to Microsoft Active Directory to provide single point of login.
